Mane and Brevis encountered each four years back in 2019 during the round of 16 tie in the African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Sadio Mane is the toughest opponent ever – Brevis Mugabi
Uganda football star and Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi named Senegalese player Sadio Mane as the toughest player he has ever encountered in a tournament.
Senegal emerged victorious after this match with a solo goal that was scored by Sadio Mane.
“Sadio Mane is the hardest opponent that I have ever encountered,” Said Brevis Mugabi during an interview with journalists.
“This happened back in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations that happened in Egypt where we lost to Senegal 1-0 in the last 16,” Mugabi added.
Sadio Mane and the Liverpool goal machine scored the only goal during the 15th minute eliminating the Uganda national team The cranes from the tournament.
This was Brevis Mugabi’s debut game on the Uganda cranes national team in a big continental tournament.
In 2021, Mugabi suffered a severe injury which made him miss out on the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers where Uganda cranes also failed to qualify for the tournament that happened in Cameroon.
Looking at his current form at his club Motherwell, Mugabi is one of the players the Cranes might have to look up to for the 2023 AFCON tournament that will be happening in Ivory Coast.
Bevis Kristofer Kizito Mugabi is believed to have been born on May 1st 1995 and he is a great and professional footballer who plays as a defender for the Scottish Premiership club Motherwell.
Brevis has also previously played in the English Football League for Yeovil. Although he was born and raised in England, he represents Uganda at international level.
