Morocco beat Spain 3-0 to reach World Cup quarterfinals
Morocco have qualified for the World Cup quarterfinal becoming the first African nation to do so since Ghana in 2010.
Spain dominated possession but did not manage to cause too many problems with it. They hit the post through Olmo, but it was offside, and Ferran Torres has had a few sighters too. Not clinical enough from Luis Enrique's men.
It was lack of clinical finishing from both sides as Morocco, too h had opportunities through Ziyech, Aguerd, Mazraoui and Sofiane Boufal to make the difference but the breakthrough did not come through.
Penalty a game of double lottery settled the matter between the two hard fought sides determined for nothing less than victory. Morocco were clinical from 12 yards as they won 3-0 on penalties, with their goalkeeper Bono making two saves on a historic night.
