Manchester City won through a brilliant strike from Kevin De Bruyne.
Manchester City raise the bar in EPL after Beating Chelsea
In one of the biggest matches in the English Premier League yesterday, It was first versus second. Chelsea defended well and limited Manchester City to only a few chances but Man City were dominant throughout the match.
It was almost a repeat of their victory at Stamford Bridge in September and, after completing the double over Chelsea, the 13-point gap between City and their nearest challengers is huge.
Liverpool could close that gap if they win their games in hand, and they still have to go to the Etihad themselves which doesn’t seem easy.
Manchester City are setting an incredible standard right now and it's no surprise other clubs are struggling to keep up. City have the best attacking numbers and the best defensive record.
When other teams struggled during this busy festive period, City kept on winning. Pep Guardiola said his side were facing an "emergency" of injuries, illness and suspensions at the start of December.
A fourth Premier League title in five seasons seems a sure deal for a team and manager who have raised the bar high with now 13 consecutive wins.
