New signing Abdu Lumala, in his Uganda Premier League, played his heart out creating a number of good chances for a Vipers’ goal.
Lumala shines in Uganda Premier League debut as Bright Stars frustrate Vipers
Defending champions Vipers Sports Club played out to a goalless draw against Bright Stars in the Uganda Premier League season opener.
However, a lack of clinical finishing by marksman Yunus Sentamu, Bright Anukani and Abubakar Lawal frustrated the Venoms’ golden opportunities. Lumala’s attempt at goal too was blocked leaving title holders search for a dream season start in frustration.
Bright Star’ Amis Muwomge too will be guilty for failing to convert his opportunities at goal.
A number of wasted chances to carry the match in both stanzas from the two determined teams played out to a goalless ending.
As the Uganda Premier League match two follows, title holders Vipers will now return to the drawing board after a series of successful engagements in the pre-season and the first round of CAF Champions League preliminaries.
The Venoms face DRC giants in the second round of the CAF CL second round preliminaries next week.
