Klopp won’t buy new players in January

Liverpool's head coach, Jurgen Klopp has come out to say that he won’t be getting any new players during the January transfer market to cover for the Liverpool stars that will be leaving the club for the African Nations Cup.

During the AFCON, Liverpool will miss the services of Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane a Senegalese winger and Guinea’s Naby Keita when the tournament starts in Cameroon.

As Liverpool is still trying to keep up in the race to win the Premier League title, the club could miss the three players for almost a month from January 9th to February 6th.

Klopp says he has no plans of getting new players to stand in for the trio when the transfer window opens on January 1.

“We knew three would be qualified and be there and we knew that at least two of them will go pretty far in the tournament, “Klopp told the media on Wednesday.

”Can you be prepared for something like that, properly, perfectly? Like a one-for-one replacement for Sadio, a replacement for Mo, one replacement for Naby?” he asked.

Klopp says replacing them is a tricky situation but he is happy with the squad and has options to play and still to play football.

”We are quite confident we will find solutions” said Klopp.

He accepts Liverpool may not be at their best without Salah, who has been on form and top of his game this season, and Mane, who just got back to his best after a dip last season.

He believes they will find a way to win games to keep them in the title race with Manchester City and European champions Chelsea.

”Whoever will play in the period when the three boys are not here, will have a plan, and gives us a chance to win a football game”, Klopp said.
