Delivering on the $400,000 job: Manzoki opens scoring in China Super League

Former Vipers goal machine Cesar Lobi Manzoki has lived to the billing finding the back of the net for his new side Dalian Pro in the China Super League.

Manzoki delivered on the task in his second game in China, both coming off the bench. In the Saturday game against Beijing Guoan, he delivered his trademark blistering strike from the edge of the box in the 83rd minute to rescue a precious point for his side that had gone down 2-1.

The goal will be a huge boost of confidence for the striker who was reportedly hired to help the team survive relegation. Dalian Pro are 11th on the 18-log table and sit four places above the red zone. The goal gifted Dalian Pro a precious point that gives the side 8-point cushion above the relegation zone.

Manzoki’s transfer to China left fans stunned after several months of speculation linking him to a move to Tanzania giants Simba SC. Dalian Pro agreed to $200,000 in transfer fees and $400,000 in six-months-deal for the striker.

The Chinese club hijacked the move that had Simba’s rivals Yanga SC stealthily making inroads after series of failed talks between Vipers and Simba. Vipers are said to have been infuriated by Simba who allegedly negotiated terms with Manzoki without knowledge of the employers.

According to reports, Manzoki signed an agreement with Simba and will be expected to join them next season.
