Calamity Lukaku big misses DUMP Belgium's 'golden generation' out of World Cup

World’s number two ranked team, Belgium have crashed out of the World Cup at group stage.

Romelu Lukaku missed 4 big chances for Belgium in the second half.

Former Chelsea forward Lukaku was guilty of missing at least three golden scoring opportunities that could have salvaged the pride of the Red Devils. They need to beat Croatia to stand a chance at progression into the last 16.

Lukaku was brought on after the break having both teams yet in search for a breakthrough. He was close to making an instant impact coming but wasted the opportunity as he missed an open goal hitting the woodwork.

The 29-year-old failed to get the target about six yards inside the area!

He had more two scoring opportunities to make up for the shock. He deflcted a cross from the right wide of the goal and another chance went up in smoke.

But redemption came calling. Towards the end of the match, in its dying minutes, with a chance to rescue the Red Devils from the shock of a World Cup group stage exit, Lukaku failed to head the ball and instead let the ball drop down to his knees gifting Croatia’s backline the chance to clear the ball.

In the other group match, Morocco beat Canada 2-1 to top the group. Belgium’s golden generation suffer the shock exit from the group stage.
