Bebe Cool related to the public how a gunman wanted to shoot him after the same assailant knocked his car in the semi-upscale suburb of Ntinda.
You promoted Musevenism, now you're being attacked by his thugs - Nyanzi to Bebe
Political activist and academic, Dr. Stella Nyanzi, has taken aim at singer Moses Ssali, popularly known as Bebe Cool, for crying foul about an unknown gunman who attacked him last week.
It was, according to his lights, an assassination attempt.
“A lot is still unveiling, but we managed to disarm him and he was arrested by a police officer. [He was] later taken to Ntinda police station. I was immediately asked by the police officer to go make a statement at the station,” Bebe Cool said as he shared his account of the incident.
Nyanzi said that unlike her who “opposes President Museveni’s corruption, lies, excesses, violations of human rights and violence,” Bebe Cool sides with “Africa’s worst tyrant”.
“Bebe has used his talent, expertise and varied resources to publicly promote Musevenism.I am now wondering why my cousin is crying about the unjust violence meted out to him by Museveni’s gunman,” she said.
Nyanzi paints a chillingly cinematic picture of Bebe Cool taking the armed assailant to the police station in Ntinda, thereupon more gunmen encircled the detention facility, freeing their supposed gang member and fleeing with him into the proverbial sunset.
As political tensions in Uganda take on the shape of a bar on the verge of a brawl, several Ugandans besides Bebe Cool have endured close scrapes with unknown assailants.
This circumstance has been attributed to economic as well as political challenges which have set upon the country.
