Vandalism at Owen falls leaves Mukono prone to load shedding

According a statement released by Uganda Electricity Transmission Company (UETCL) in the morning hours of Saturday, Mukono district will be facing serious load shedding in the days to come.

This, according to the statement, has come as a result of vandalism of two towers at the Owen falls Lugogo transmission line at Kivuvu village in Mukono district.

"UETCL informs its stakeholders and the general public that there was vandalism two towers on the Owen Falls - Lugogo (land 2) 132kV Transmission line at Kivuvu Mukono district during the morning of 12th November, 2022," the statement read in part.

The statement further revealed that the vandalism of the two towers also led to the collapse of two more towers leaving UETCL with no option other than some parts of Mukono being affected by load shedding.
