In a tweet, the Uganda Medical Interns United (UMIU) posted messages showing that the group, excluding the President of UMA, were given incentives on Friday to join Oledo at the podium the following day.
How young medics were allegedly tricked to kneel before President Museveni
On Saturday December 3 2022, the President of Uganda Medical Association (UMA) Samuel Odongo Oledo, with a group of medics knelt before President Museveni thanking him for his leadership. However, prior to the incident, it is alleged that the group of medics was recruited for Dr. Oledo's display.

According to the messages, the recruitment was conducted by Dr. Musa Lumumba, President of the Federation For Uganda Medical Interns (FUMI). He allegedly recruited 50 interns to stand beside the Oledo with promises of a fun weekend, refreshments and a tour of the Ceremonial Grounds.
Lumumba supposedly also encouraged the interns to invite their colleagues saying, "I will be sharing a list of those who would have attended the symposium on 3rd at Kololo, with HE the President."
"I will make sure we are paraded before the President and as well, take photos with him," he reportedly continued.
"If you have friends around Kampala, please encourage them to attend, in their full attire. The principle is simple 'Nothing for Us, Without Us'" he allegedly concluded in the message, signed off with his name.
Reactions
Although the messages depict a picture of innocent interns who were not aware of Oledo's intentions, the public seems to have been swayed to sympathise.
Others have claimed that the messages were from an impersonator.
Currently, Oledo faces forceful resignation from Uganda Medical Association executives.
The news comes a month after Lumumba cried out about the failure of the organisation to pay interns.
