The four officials have snice been identified as: Alfred Adaku, the acting chief finance officer, Bosco Madrara, principal human resource officer, Lulu Natal, senior human resource officer and Jane Aserua Clara, acting senior accountant.
Four officials charged, arrested over sh200m financial loss
The Inspectorate of Government (IG) has arrested and charged four senior officials from Moyo district local government over abuse of office and causing a financial loss of sh200m to Government.

Natala, Madrara, Adaku, Aserua during financial year 2018/19 while performing their duties negligently facilitated 23 staff of Moyo district local government to be irregularly paid arrears, knowing or having no reason that their acts would lead to a financial loss. This was repeated in the next financial year – 2021/21.
The accused who were arraigned in court yesterday following their arrest on Tuesday pleaded not guilty before grade one magistrate, Ebert Asiimwe.
Adaku was granted a cash bail of sh3m and sureties of sh2m non-cash. Madrara, Natal and Aserua were also granted a cash bail of sh2m and sureties of sh20m non-cash.
A week ago, IG arrested and charged three officials for abuse of office and causing financial loss of sh233m to Uganda Technical College Kichwamba.
Shortly after being appointed as Inspectorate of Government by the President last year, Betty Kamya expressed her determination to fight corruption in Uganda.
“I thank the President for entrusting me with yet another important office. I am the right candidate and of course I will make it and I have the qualifications. I am more than determined to fight corruption in this country of ours,” she told the press.
