West has hit back at critics, celebrities and activists alike, rapper Jaden Smith and fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson in his Instagram story writing: "Everyone knows that Black Lives Matter was a scam. Now it’s over. You’re welcome."
Black Lives Matter was a scam. Now it’s over - Kanye West responds to critics
Kanye West has responded to the backlash over him posing for a picture and sending models down the runway in "White Lives Matter" shirts during the Yeezy SZN 9 presentation in Paris during the Paris Fashion Week.
The 45-year-old rapper, who has been sending the world of fashion into a frenzy with his eccentric designs, yesterday crossed a line according to critics who have since dubbed him "dangerously dumb".
Following his surprise appearance with the Yeezy fashion at the fashion week, the rapper cum fashion designer, posed for a photo with controversial American conservative figure Candace Owens, both clad in t-shirts with the words "White Lives Matter".
If his recent response to the backlash is anything to go by, 'Ye' seems to think he has balanced out the scales that the "All Black Lives Matter" movement apparently started over two years ago.
Taking the stage to address the attendees, he said, "I am Ye, and everyone here knows that I am the leader. You can’t manage me".
Karefa-Johnson, however, had no kind words to West's display.
"There is no excuse, there is no art here. I do think if you asked Kanye, he’d say there was art, and revolution, and all of the things in that T-shirt. There isn’t. As we all work through the trauma of this moment, especially those of us who suffered in that room, let’s have some grace for one another," she said.
West retaliated by attempting to browbeat Karefa-Johnson on his Instagram, mentioning her appearance in captions and zooming in on perceived flaws.
