'Everytime I'm dealing with anxiety' - Gravity Omutujju on his mental health

Gravity Omutujju has broken silence and opened up about his struggle with anxiety, remaining strong through financial stress and commitment to his craft.

Although the rapper is living the typical celebrity lifestyle: luxurious cars, real estate, a stable income, assorted hit songs, a loyal fanbase, recognition, he says that not all that glitters is gold.

The "Broken English" singer shared with his fans revealing that he experiences bouts of anxiety and melancholy that he deals with on his own. He added that he runs out of money even though his consistency with music production paints a different picture.

"Sometimes I’m sad, most times I go broke, everytime I’m dealing with anxiety but who you wan tell? The game is the game! Art must be created. Shout out to God always for showing himself strong and mighty," Gravity said in a social media post.

The fans and fellow artists acclaimed him for sharing his challenges and sent him good will for recover.

According to medical experts at Health Choc, anxiety is categorised in many way but what most people experience is generalised anxiety and panic disorder.

Generalised anxiety is commonly experiences by a big portion of the population and usually goes untreated. This anxiety revolves around general issues like school or job performance, finances, world events, natural disasters, relationships. The worries become hard to control and overwhelm someone making it hard to concentrate which ironically makes the cause of the worry worse.

Panic disorder is majorly characterised by panic attacks which include a combination of sensations, including racing heart, rapid breathing, chest pain, dizziness, nausea or abdominal pain, blurred vision, sweating, shaking, feelings of doom, feeling like the world isn’t real (a dream or a movie).

The episode is also defined by an experience of fear of losing control, or fear of dying or going crazy. Panic attacks can be triggered or happen out of nowhere. Panic disorder happens when a person avoids what they think brings about the attack.

Following the fire that destroyed kiosks around National Theater, it has been revealed that faded singer Phina Mugerwa (Masanyalaze)lost her boutique in the incident. The clothing boutique is said to have been near the welding plant where the fire is believed to have originated.

The singer lost most of her property (clothing) to fire as her green boutique was located next to the welding plant that is believed to have been the cause of the fire.

Although the Theatre is still intact, property surrounding it, worth millions of shillings, was lost and owners (many of whom are artists) want compensation.
