However, Gerald Kusaya, Tanzania’s commissioner general of the drug control and enforcement unit, summoned the singer for illegally using marijuana.

Since then, the singer has since removed any posts from his social media depicting him enjoying the herb in any sort of way and also apologized.

“The general leadership of Konde Gang Music worldwide is apologizing over the content of my latest song Weed language,” Harmonize said in a post.

In the post, Harmonize notes that the content of his song violates the moral fabric of the country, hence, his apology.

“The song has gone against the morals of our nation. Because of the impact, the song has had on our people, we have also agreed to delete it from all our social media platforms. We will be ambassadors of clean content in our country,” he added.

Meanwhile, Harmonize stated that the song was one of his main projects for this month before it was released on Thursday of last week.

“This December if I don’t release a song about weed, shoot me,” he had remarked previously.

Weed language is not the first song to be banned by the government of Tanzania, in 2018, Diamond Platnumz’s two songs, Hallelujah and Waka Waka were also banned over inappropriate visual and auditory concerns.
