"They ask me why I don't bleach and I tell them my mother raised me black," Jazmine, born Lydia Nabawanuka, says.

Her mother chips in: "I'm sending this message to those who don't use bleaching cream, stay strong because those creams speed up your aging.”

She adds: "I'm a young girl... I'm sixty. I was born on October 19, 1962... I will never use bleaching cream. Follow my lead fellow Africans, bleaching creams will age you."

Star Gal commented: “She's 🥰more stubborn than😅Jazmine.”

Born in 1991, Jazmine started getting mainstream attention when producer Bushington hired her to be a backup singer for Mowzey Radio and Weazel Manizo.

She featured on their songs like Breathe Away which was produced by Michael Fingers and Ntunga which was produced by Nessim.

She also did the same for Pallaso, Sheeba Kalungi, and Bebe Cool until she dropped her first single titled You Know featuring Rabadaba and produced by Nessim.

Bushington was her manager under his label Necta Music.

Her major breakthrough was Same Way, her 2016 collaboration with Geosteady. It was also produced by Nessim.

That same year Radio wrote for her a song titled Nkubanja which was released in 2017 and was produced by the Late Danz Kumapeesa.

In 2018, she also dropped a great ballad by teaming up with Daddy Andre on You and me.

Jazmine has had appearances on MTV Base Africa and Coke Studio Africa, and won numerous awards, including Zzina Awards and Uganda Entertainment Awards.

But despite recording such huge success music analysts have recently taken aim at her for focusing on showbiz and neglecting music.

But Jazmine has said that she is setting up new management and she'll be dropping new music soon.
