UMADecides2022: King Saha carrying out a people-based campaign
Uganda Musicians Association is holding their elections next week on June 28, 2022. As the election date draws near, the team got an opportunity to have a sit-down discussion with Presidential candidate Manisul Semanda, popularly known as King Saha, about his manifesto.
Saha says that he wants to create a system of operations that will safeguard young and upcoming artist from most of the challenges that the established artists faced when they were breaking out.
Responding to accusations of bringing politics in the association, King Saha refutes the allegations saying that UMA is a non-partisan platform and he is ready to work with anyone who has the artists' well-being at heart, regardless of their political affiliations.
Talking about the luxurious lifestyle that some artist chase after, even to their own detriment, the singer says that he hopes to establish a simple lifestyle that promotes individual well-being and accumulation of wealth as the mark of success.
Saha says that he believes leadership is a calling and that it is his time to direct the trajectory of the local music industry stakeholders, under which he wants to promote music that highlights the tribal diversity of Uganda.
When asked about his political ambitions in public office, he says that only time will tell, but for now he is going to take this opportunity to do his best where he can.
