UMADecides: Cindy promises King Saha cabinet position, Saha calls musicians meeting

Ugandan musician and current president of Uganda Musicians Association Cindy Sanyu has promised fellow candidate Manisul Semanda, King Saha, a place on her cabinet when she emerges victorious in the coming elections.

A confident Sanyu says that she does not see King Saha as a rival and hopes to collaborate with him under her regime. With no small amount of smugness, the "Still Standing" singer promises to keep King Saha on her side by appointing him in a position that doesn't require voting.

I have no problem working with him. Once I win, I will encourage him to apply for other positions that don’t require voting, we could use some of his ideas. We want to work with everyone who has good plans for this industry,” says Cindy

On the other hand, a resolute King Saha has been celebrating the association's decision to hold the elections using the ballot process. He believes that through the secret ballot voting procedure, the association will be able to achieve a free and fair election. He also believes that victory is in his future now that his team can oversee the physical votes.

"I believe the secret ballot will be free and fair. Our campaign agents will be able to protect our votes. I believe I will be announced the winner," he said.

King Saha has also resumed a robust campaign plan to have a sit-down with all registered musicians in one place, after having one-on-one discussions with a number of them.

"I have organized a meeting for all musicians. I want to hear their grievances as a group. I had one on one discussions with many of them but it's time I listen to them in one place," he said.

The "Mulirwana" singer seems to share Sanyu's self-assuredness as the election date draws close, but there can only be one King, King Saha or "the King Herself".
