Top Ugandan artistes of 2021 [Pulse Picks 2021]

Having seen the worst in 2021 due to the coronavirus that resulted in a total lock down of the entertainment industry, 2021 has been a relatively good year for some Ugandan musicians who toughed it out and managed to release great music regardless. These are some of our favourite.

Without a doubt, 2021 has indeed been Azawi’s year!.This year, the Swangz Avenue singer released her debut EP dubbed “Lo-Fit” and her debut album called African Music, with songs like Party Mood, My Year and Majje. Azawi has also won accolades from award organisers like Buzz Teenz awards and the Janzis.

Eddy Kenzo

As usual, Eddy Kenzo continues to hold fort on both the local and international scenes. Eddy this year released his “Made In Africa” album with trending songs like ‘Weekend’. He has also won awards both locally and internationally like best Male Artist in East, South and Northern Africa in the AEAUSA awards.

Levixone

He has taken Ugandan gospel music to another level with his output quality This year he released a hit song, 'Mbeera’, which has topped charts on different countdowns in Uganda.

Pallaso

Pallaso has upped his game this year, with his hard work evident in tracks like ‘Mpa Love’, ‘Kiliza’ and ‘Baleke Abo’ have been top guns in bars and different media platforms.

Liam Voice

Liam is one of the most talented young artists that have established themselves in the music business this year. He has had a breakthrough this year with his trending songs like ‘Omwoyo’ and ‘Bus’.

Spice Diana

Spice Diana has mastered the art of collaborations in and outside Uganda, something that has pushed her music and brand beyond borders. This year she collaborated with Wasafi’s Mbosso and Zuchu, both from Tanzania.

Zex Bilangilangi

Zex Bilangilangi mastered the art of making hit bangers this year and the music he has released this year has no doubt been top club bangers.His songs like Nalinda and Ratata have raised his musical career and brand in the entertainment industry this year. His biggest song this year has been magazine topping charts on media countdowns and hitting in all hangouts around the country.

Fik Fameica

Fik Fameica this year has released top songs ‘Lov Lov, Lock ‘and ‘Majje’ ft. Azawi and they have really pushed him across borders. Fameika is also working on an album which he will be releasing next year.Fik Fameika has also had a couple of high end performances on international stages and has also had tours in Europe and America. His social media growth has also grown and the huge numbers have indeed earned him endorsement deals from different brands.

Ykee Benda

Ykee Benda is also one of the artists that have worked hard and stood out in 2021.This year he released an album ‘Kirabo’ album. It is reportedly one of the most streamed albums this year with songs like Obangaina and Banange where he features Lydia Jazmine.
