The kids say they use part of the revenue to help children from humble backgrounds get a good education. The music and dance group based in Masaka comprises mostly young children most of whom have lost parents through the devastation of war, famine and disease.

The kids became popular for posting a series of videos on social media dancing to various music genres. In 2021 Eddy Kenzo’s YouTube channel became the first in Uganda to make 100 million views after featuring the Masaka Kids in a dance challenge for his hit song ‘Tweyagale’.

Their YouTube channel was the first to hit two million subscribers in Uganda.
