Mowzey Radio is largely regarded as the best musician of his generation. He died of severe injuries on February 1, 2018, after Godfrey Wamala, known to many as ‘Troy’, slammed him on concrete at De Bar, a popular hangout in Entebbe.

After the incident, Mowzey Radio was rushed to Nsambya Hospital in critical condition before being transferred to Case Clinic where he died. The late’s mother, Kasubo Jane, says the death of her son three years ago is still fresh as though it happened yesterday. She also added that she has never recovered from her son’s death till date.

Wamala was found guilty of manslaughter in 2019. In her judgment at Entebbe High court, Justice Abodo, noted that prosecution failed to prove to the court beyond reasonable doubt that Wamala killed Mowzey. She, however, said that the court contended with prosecution that the accused person participated in the brawl that ended the artist’s life.

Justice Abodo noted that prosecution didn’t at any moment in its submission connect Wamala to the killing despite being part of the bar brawl.

Justice Adobo said that Wamala would spend 13 years, three months and four days in jail because he had already served one year, eight months and 26 days in Kigo Prison.
