"The Executive Committee led by the president, takes full possession of UMA offices and full responsibility of affairs of the association," she said in a statement.
"The Executive has been working from home... This action, however, created a vacuum in terms of providing leadership to UMA through this period. The offices are now open and members can come in for member services."
According to the songstress, the executive is now fully responsible for planning and providing a new roadmap to hold fresh elections for the next UMA executive board.
"We are consulting stakeholders on financing of the elections and other logistics to create opportunities for participation by our countrywide membership. The roadmap is to be unveiled once we have a greenlight from partners," she said.
The dancehall maestro is among presidential contenders in the election that was cancelled a few months ago.
She is facing Manisul Ssemanda, aka King Saha and Ramathan Mutebi, alias Lord Bitemu.
The Association's executive committee comprises six members.
According to the statement, the executive is to hold an annual general meeting "as soon as possible" though they haven't announced the date
Cindy says the Association's focus is on business recovery following two years under lockdown, market expansion, growth in musicians' royalties and making the industry competitive both locally and abroad.
