Chameleone owes me songs -Lutalo

Chameleone released the love ballad “Forever” in December of last year but songwriter and singer David Lutalo who wrote the song appears to be unhappy with how the project turned out. The “Kapapala” fame artist says that Jose Chameleone rushed to release the song before he could fine-tune it to his creative standards.

On top of rushing to put the song out, Lutalo accuses Chameleone of erasing some lines and replacing them, something that did not go down well with the writer. The soft spoken love song composer and singer reveals that he made a deal with Leone Island boss to write for each other songs, but he has yet to receive any material from Chameleone. The fact that Chameleone changed the song and did not heed Lutalo’s advice to give the song more time could be a foreshadowing for the relationship and future of the deal between the two.

We agreed that I write for his songs and he also pens down some for me. I’m still waiting for him to fulfill that,” David said in an interview.

Forever” is reminiscent of Chameleone’s 2012 “Nkwagala Nyo” especially in video concept. Like a follow up of the love story in the latter, in “Forever” the man is now a mafia-attire-wearing Don something out of “American Gangster” who comes to a bar to watch the object of his affections perform. The video is directed and produced by popular videographer, Sasha Vybz.

With hits like “Hellena” “Kwasa” ‘”Gunsitula” of the same theme under his belt, there’s no doubt that the artist would have done more for the song as he says. The song is still good as it stands and Chameleone has not commented on Lutalo’s claims.
