According to Barugahara, who has been in the music business for over two decades, Kusasira is “Uganda’s Madonna”.
He said that like Eddy Kenzo she should also organise a festival.
"I want Uganda's Madonna to also organise a festival," he said in a recent interview.
Pressed for clarity, he said: "Catherine Kusasira, my boss. That's a true musician, my boss. Teriba dogo, si dogo [those are lyrics from her hit ballad titled Si Dogo]... My boss, the presidential advisor [she is a senior presidential advisor on Kampala].”
Kusasira, who belongs to Eagles Production, one of the oldest and most popular bands in the country, has been singing for about three decades.
Despite not releasing songs occasionally, her type of music will always be around for ages, but that doesn’t necessarily fully qualify Barugahara’s claim.
Kusasira recently appeared in the news after her creditor, through a law firm called Cranimer Associates, run an advert in newspapers announcing that they would auction her house located along Abbas Road in Luwafu, Makindye if she doesn’t clear her debt.
Speaking on that, Barugahara said: "I don't think they will take it because when they announced, days passed, have you heard that they took it?...”
Asked if he helped her, he said: “She is very powerful, she is blessed. She will finish her issues, she is a strong woman; she will handle everything. That's Uganda's Madonna.”
Kusasira said she borrowed the money to invest in some of her businesses but things didn’t go as planned.
