Eddie Murphy's Beverly Hills Cop 4 is in 'pre-production'

The movie will be a reboot after a disastrous Beverly Hills Cop 3. This means it is expected to be called Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. It is already in pre-production with its production scheduled to begin at the end of August 2022.

By definition, Pre-production includes all the brainstorming and planning that happens before cameras start rolling. From developing a concept, exploring the look of your film, storyboarding scenes and much more.

The film has been in the works for a very long time with rewrites and movements from different studios in 2019. Now, finally, it will be distributed exclusively by Netflix.

Jerry Bruckheimer Films produced Top Gun: Maverick', which grossed $1.2 Billion Worldwide.

Beverly Hills Cop 4 will be directed by Australian direct Mark Molloy (known for Apple at work – The Underdogs).

Melissa Reid and Eddie Murphy are co-producers on the movie. While Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, and Will Beall will be the writers of the movie.

Movie plot

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is a reboot in view of the massive box office dud that was Beverly Hills Cop 3, which was released nearly 30 years ago. Now, Axel Foley is back in a different way.

Here’s a look at the tentative plot:

"Axel Foley returns to Beverly Hills once more after receiving a phone call from an old friend warning that his estranged daughter Jane might be in danger. Quickly making new enemies as he teams up with Jane and her ex, Detective Bobby Tapia, Axel finds himself caught up in a conspiracy between deadly cartels, even the Beverly Hills Police."

This plot might change, but it is looking good so far.
