"We have lost Saidat Nantumbwe a stage and film actress, model and makeup artist," reads the announcement posted Tuesday on Twitter.
According to the statement, she had featured in a number of television programs that have aired on multiple platforms, including Pearl Magic.
She played a role in The Legacy, a Ugandan-made action Drama TV series about a wealthy family headed by Dennis Luutu in a corrupt world full of enemies and secrets.
She was also in Loving Tyra, a Ugandan musical drama television series created by Denis Dhikusooka Jr and starring Vivian Kaitesi as Tyra, a celebrated recording artist who finds herself in a complicated relationship with a conman on the loose.
The series premiered on Pearl Magic TV on February 6, 2020 and on Showmax in September 2020.
Denis Dhikusooka Jr., who created the series, also plays other roles as the producer and write as well as playing Mathias, the antagonist of the series.
Saidat Nantumbwe also played roles in The Legacy, Katubagiro, Kamara, Betrayed, Family Crisis, Deadly Mistakes and Perfect Imperfections.
According to the announcement, her vigil was held on Monday at Kasangati, a Kampala suburb.
Saidat Nantumbwe was also a model and makeup artist.
People who knew her as friends and from her work took to social media to mourn her.
