“I’m done explaining LA Gang culture,” he wrote on Twitter, in the wake of rapper PnB Rock’s death. “MFs will not listen. It’s not a game.. At all.”
You'll be killed, Ice-T warns rappers to stop wearing Jewellery in L.A.
Rapper and actor Ice-T, real name Tracy Lauren Marrow, has warned celebrities, especially rappers, to stop wearing so much jewellery in Los Angeles, saying they will be robbed and even killed because of the gang culture in that city.
Ice-T said that even the most beloved and respected rap artists and celebrities from LA avoid wearing an excessive amount of jewellery due to the crime in that city.
“People are still hitting me up about my comments about LA Gang culture,” the legend continued in another tweet.
“If you NOTICE, LA rappers don’t wear a lotta Jewelry… Me, Snoop, Cube, Dre, Game, Kendrick. The list goes on… It’s not cause we’re broke. LA is just a Dangerous place, rapper or not. Why test the streets?” he asked.
However, one social media user posted a comment on Ice-T’s tweet with a photograph of rapper The Game, heavily bejewelled with gold chains. Ice-T responded that such cases as The Game’s were reserved for special occasions and far from the norm.
“Thats (sic) on certain occasions when you’re ready for whatever,” he replied. “I have Big Jewelry too… But you don’t wake up EVERYDAY and put it on to go down the block.”
He then restated that those who do not heed his advice will reap the whirlwind of their obstinacy.
“As I said before… Challenge the hood, somebody’s gonna catch that Fade.”
