‘She could be right about me,’ Susan Makula on feud with Jessica Kayanja

Jessica, who is married to Rubaga Miracle Center Cathedral leader Pastor Robert Kayanja, wasn't happy when Makula started dating Pastor Aloysius Bugingo.

Pastor Bugingo was married to Teddy Naluswa until his romance with Makula went public in 2019.

Jessica, who was on Nasulwa's side, was quoted in the media slamming Makula, whom she observed had a questionable history.

Susan Makula, who is a single mother of one son, dropped out of Makerere University in her second year after becoming pregnant.

In need of finances to look after her child, she landed a job at The Pyramids Casino and Restuarant in Kampala, where she waited tables. This also exposed her to the wild life of Kampala's wealthy men and uninhibited fun in city hangouts.

“I was transferred to Pyramid, a branch to Kampala Casino where I met rich men who used to give a tip of as high as Shs7m,” she said in an interview.

At one point, Makula, who also worked in radio, was a member of Bebe Cool's Gagamel Crew. This seemed to have made a great foundation for Jessica's criticism.

"That woman, first of all, as I told you, I don't talk about people. She's a woman of God... Madam Jessica Kayanja is anointed... Since I read the Bible, I can't attack her... It's not abusing, no, she could be right about me," Makula said when she was asked by journalists what she thinks of Jessica's attacks.

On Jessica calling her a prostitute, she said: "No... I can't respond to her or talk about her, so I don't want to talk about her. She is a woman of God. Also, the Bible allows rebuking old people like me. We can be taught, so if what she's doing is to rebuke me, I'll listen."

On people who abuse her, she said: "There are people who are getting views from abusing me and that's the source of income, I don't mind... As long as you're earning from it, it's okay. I have no problem. Like how you see us teaching children to work at church. You may find their job is abusing me."

Asked what endeared her to Pastor Bugingo, she sternly said: "He knows."

About being a homewrecker, Makula said: "I've no control over people's thoughts. I don't have power over their thinking... I mind my business, my thoughts, and my mouth."

In May 2019, Bugingo and Teddy’s love story turned sour when the former publicly accused the latter of wanting to kill him.

He also accused her of conspiring to steal his church land, citing them as some of the reasons he could no longer stay with her. He demanded a divorce.

Teddy denied the allegations and opposed the divorce petition stating church marriage is meant to last forever and that her husband had no valid issues for divorcing her.

Makula and Bugingo became close when she joined Salt Media in 2014 as a radio presenter. Rumours about their romance started circulating in 2018 after they were seen together.
