Lady Mariam, popularly known as Tindatine said she had promised to take Grace to Club Guvnor but she died before she could fulfill the pledge.
Tindatine, who had visited Grace’s ancestral home, said she made the promise to the singer during the Covid lockdown.
"It's a pity... that our fellow woman has left us... she has gone... to where we don't know there is music and enjoyment… We were friends. We would meet at shows and have fun... She had told me that you're the one who taught me hanging out at Guvnor, you should take me there again... and I promised her that I would take her again, but let us first get out of the lockdown,” she said.
"But God has taken her... I haven't done what I promised her... On Saturday we had a show together in Nakasongola... We've been working together.”
Tindatine and Grace met in a band.
"I came to know Grace while we were working in the same band called Edmond Band. I was with Babaritah, Sharon Kaka, Izon T, Geosteady... and many others... We were in Kireka. That's how I came to know Grace,” she said.
Alimpa and other survivors are currently admitted at Mulago National Referral Hospital.
