Rickman on having kids with Sheilah Gashumba, her ‘trip’ with Ruger to Rwanda

Musician Rickman Manrick, real name Derrick Ddungu, has said he is not yet ready to get married to his girlfriend Sheilah Gashumba.

"No... I wouldn't call it a mentality but I have traveled and I'm exposed to different cultures, and this rushing of, you know, getting married, and having kids when you are not ready; I'm not ready to marry someone's daughter or have kids. I've been in Uganda... and I've seen what my family went through, and I wouldn't want my child to be in that position, if I'm not ready, say financially... the things I want for my child, I've not gotten them yet," Manrick said while appearing on Galaxy FM.

"I would want my child maybe to be in the Arsenal [Football Club] academy. I don't have that yet. I haven't yet gotten to that level. And we are still working. So, we have goals and ambitions."

Rickman and Gashumba, who is an events host and TV personality, made their romance public in 2021 after she dumped God's Plan, real name Marcus Ali Lwanga Ssempija.

Then in July of this year rumours made rounds that they had split after Rickman shared a video getting cozy with another woman. Gashumba later said it was an old video from 2019.

But she left fans wondering when she deleted Rickman's photos from her Instagram.

She has also been on vacations away from Uganda without him.

The video of Rickman with another woman went public after Gashumba spent time with Nigerian singer Ruger while on his visit to Kampala. Pictures of the duo in awkward poses later emerged on social media. She followed him to Kigali, Rwanda after his tour in Kampala.

Asked if that hurt him, Manrick said: "No, you know,... this is an industry where you expect everything... this is like Kanye West, Kardashian kind of industry. So, she is in an industry. I'm in an industry that is colliding in one or another."

He added: "That's her job she is doing PR for artistes... and there are many other artistes that would have [worked with her] but because of that saga and everything, now she is keeping it on a low. People want her to be on their team."

Meanwhile, they have been recently seen enjoying cozy moments in bars, and going by Manrick's comments, they are still dating.
