Pastor Mondo to pay 10 million for child negligence

Even after Sarah hoped from police to police, she did not get help. She also tried talking to fellow pastors to talk to Mondo, but all was in vain because she didn’t reap anything.

As schools reopened, Sarah says she couldn’t take their son to school because of lack of school fees. According to her, she last got child support from Mondo three years back.

Sarah took the matter to Makindye Chief Magistrates Court which issued an arrest warrant for Mondo over child neglect.

However, Mondo, who is currently living in the US, has come out and defended himself from the allegations saying the reason he hasn’t been supportive is because he has not been earning a living.

Sarah says after taking the matter to court, Pastor Mondo called begging her to withdraw the case and warrant saying he was ready to do whatever she wanted.

She says she refused to listen because of the way has been treating her the previous years. She added that he bragged about taking care of over 27 children so why would he refuse to take care of his own, she asked?

Nakuya in an interview says that for refusing to respect the court order and defaulting child support for over three years, Mondo is going to pay a sum of 10 million shillings as ordered by court.

Mondo says, restrictions that were put on churches due to the COVID-19 restricted him from performing his duties and thereby getting an income.
