Sarah, in an interview, said she has hopped from police to police but without getting any help. She also adds that she tried talking to fellow pastors to talk to Mondo, but still nothing was done about the situation.
Pastor Mondo defends himself over child negligence allegations
Earlier this week, a lady known as Sarah Nakuya came out in an interview on television and said that Pastor Franklin Mondo Mugisha of Empowerment Christian Centre Church International was not fulfilling his responsibility of being a father by neglecting their 11-year-old son.
As students returned to school, Sarah says she couldn’t take their son to school because she has no school fees and she last got child support from Mondo three years back.
Makindye Chief Magistrates Court later issued an arrest warrant for Mondo over child neglect.
However, Mondo, who is currently living in the US, has come out and defended himself from the allegations saying the reason he hasn’t been supportive is because he has not been earning a living.
Mondo says, being a pastor, restrictions that were put on churches due to the COVID-19 restricted him from performing his duties.
Mondo adds that he earns from church and since churches were closed there’s nowhere he could get money.
Mondo left the country last year saying his life was in danger.
