I’m challenging my son to show him music is no joke – Willy Mukabya

Willy Mukabya has declared himself as his son's direct competition in order to expose him to the hardships of the music industry.

Willy Mukabya Senior

The Kadongo Kamu legend has set out to perform his fatherly duty of initiating his son Mukabya Junior into the business. Mukabya Junior joined music without his father's blessing, something Mukabya Senior got over when he realised the boy could sing pretty well.

Despite his talent, Willy Mukabya says he is naive about the field, and better his father shows him the way than leaving him to his youthful will. Just a good ole father-son duel in an iron sharpens iron swordless battle.

Nevertheless, his 'defiance' will not be ignored and Mukabya Senior is ready to prove to him that it is not a slippery slope but a hard task to be able to stand out and shine.

However, the competition is in good faith and aimed at helping the young man gain respect and recognition in the country.

"Mukabya Junior decided to join the music industry forcefully without my permission. But when I heard his music, I found out that he can pretty sing well. However, I am going to compete with him and he will get to know why he joined this industry." Willy Mukabya

The "Ebyomunju" singer wants to protect his legacy by having his son excel better than him.

Mukabya Junior is Head of the Technical Department in Stadium Management at SuperSport in South Africa. He currently has one song titled "Nze Akufa" and wants his music to have a positive impact on the Ugandan youth.
