‘I don't smoke weed… my father already thinks I’m crazy’ - Sheilah Gashumba

"No I don't smoke weed, cigarettes, and SHISHA but I don't judge those who do!! It's a free world!!" she posted on her Snapchat, responding to a follower who wanted to know if she smoked weed.

The follower further asked her to explain why she doesn't smoke and she said: "It's a promise to my father!! Nothing specific!! My father already thinks I'm crazy so no weed, cigarettes, and SHISHA plus any type of DRUGS is a promise to my parents!!"

The 26-year-old TV host started mingling with people in the music industry, who are heavy drug users at a young age, so to many, it was a surprise going by the comments when she shared screenshots from her Snapchat on Twitter.

Away from TV presenting, Gashumba also hosts theme nights at clubs around Kampala and she revealed through Snapchat that she'll be adding upcoming DJs to the events she hosts to give them the opportunity to showcase their talent.

"Really been about uplifting people in my life as I was also given so many chances and opportunities while growing up. Yes, I chased my dreams but I always got a yes every time I asked for an opportunity that’s why I love sharing opportunities [with] others," she said.

"[I] will be adding different [DJs] to my nights to give my clients a good night!! Uganda has so many young talented [DJs] that need a push and just need one opportunity!!"

Gashumba mentioned DJ Alisha as her favourite female DJ in East Africa. She also revealed that she learnt deejaying in 2020.
