According to Tumusiime, when they had just started dating, Kabuura wanted their relationship to be public, but she had some concerns about that, especially since some relationships don’t always pan out as intended.

“When we started dating, he was from the school of thought of, but we are dating... show them... why are you hiding?" she said in an interview, adding that by the time they had a child Kabuura’s mind had transformed.

On Friday, April 10, 2020, Flavia Tumusiime gave birth to their first child Liam Ahabwe Kabuura at Nakasero Hospital.

“By the time we had a child, he subscribed to my privacy settings. Because he's like, but it's our child... It's not like we stole a child from the streets, why can't we show our child? And I said, this child needs to see mum, dad, not celebrity Kabuura and celebrity Flavia. And the moment we start showing the child, we are going to miss the moments,” she said.

"I see it from how we behave because we are the parents who don't take that many pictures of the child. Even when I was pregnant, I missed taking [baby bump] pictures... we even decided to have ordinary couples with children [as friends] because those are the ones we want Liam to be exposed to,” she went on.

"We want him to know that there are other occupations out there... Even the people at home, we tell him don't (sic) say certain things because our child needs to be an ordinary child... very deliberate... we are not raising a celeb, we are raising a child.”

The couple exchanged vows on January 12, 2019, and their relationship has been one of the most private in the Ugandan celebrity world, apart from a 2021 scandal in which Kabuura was accused of having an affair with a staff of the French Embassy in Kampala.
