David Lutalo accused of being selfish by music promoters

'Kapapala' hit singer David Lutalo has debunked claims that he is selfish in organising his shows by totally disregarding music and events promoters.

In January 2022, a few promoters revealed their contempt for Lutalo's self-reliance calling him self-centered in operating his music events, thereby rendering their services impotent.

The singer however claims that he has little patience with the industry personae disrespectful proclivities and that he cannot being self-sustaining.

I can’t hob-nob with someone that does not respect me. You get what you give. If I show them respect, it is only natural that they reciprocate. At the moment, I don’t know what to do for them,” he said.

The promoters resorted to 'what goes around comes around' Hail Mary attempt promising reckoning by boycotting him and his business in the future.

An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind, but battle-hardened Lutalo, like his name suggests, said that he does not have a problem with any promoter.

Lutalo has earned himself a reputation of holding his concerts in January, around this time many Ugandans have coined many terms like "Njalanuary" "1000 days of January" all describing the alleged financial crisis that comes after the festive season and the impending costly scholastic needs of a new year.

Perhaps Lutalo's ability to sell out shows in such conditions is to envy and has left fellow stakeholders in the business feeling left out by a feasting Lutalo.

He is however not intimidated by these claims and remains humble in his defiance of the norm until a worthy promoter knocks at his door. Lutalo denies allegations of being self-contained and not needing promoters in any way.
