Comedienne Agnes Akite reveals being sexually harrased at Cubana Lounge

Famous comedian Agnes Akite revealed to the public that she was once sexually abused by a workmate something that shocked and angered her.

According to her, this happened earlier this week when she had gone to perform at a hangout called Cubana Lounge.

She added that when she tried to calm down and asked for an apology from him, he backed her off saying she should not overreact because even if he didn’t apologise there was nothing she was going to do about it.

Agnes has vowed to take the offender to law and she is currently doing consultations about how to execute it well.

“Sexual harassment is something that is very common in our society, and the culprits usually get away with it because they think that they are above the law, women never come out to talk about it because most times there’s no evidence and no one will believe them,” Agnes said.

“Last night at Cubana Lounge after my show, I was a victim and the most annoying bit is that the culprit is someone I work with. When I told him off, he told me I was overreacting and I should relax…the audacity,” she added.

The Cubana bar and lounge is located in Munyonyo.
